ABOUT US

HELLO I'M GILL.
PRINCIPAL TUTOR IN AROMATHERAPY AND MASSAGE.

I was a  professional dancer for twenty eight years, "world wide." Massage is an art all professional dancers are taught. If you read my introduction it tells you how I started. I have attended courses on aromatherapy all over the world. In both the curative and cosmetic field. During the last eighteen months I have completed the W.J.E.C. in adult learning, essential oil chemistry and therapeutics, with the Atlantic institute U.K. I became friendly with Trisha in 1988 while we were both running diverse holistic businesses and workshops in north Wales. We had frequently talked about joining forces and designing a teaching program but did not get around to doing it until 1999. In the year 2000 we have commenced weekend courses in north Wales. In September 2000 we hope to offer ten day courses in the Mediterranean at a cost you can afford.

My interest in Aromatherapy started in Beirut, Lebanon in 1967, whilst working as a dancer in the Casino "Du-Liban" and expanded throughout my career in places like Damascus, Cairo, Baghdad and Istanbul. I was totally mesmerized by the ancient Babylonian beauty products, the best soap I have ever used, which I came across in a small general store of Shara Ramsis in Cairo, was called "Bambo". I often wonder if it is still in production and do so hope they have not changed the blend.

The correct Arabic name for Essential Oil is MAL-AL- ZAHAR (essence of flowers), in Turkey they call it CICEK SU (flower water). Life for me has been a journey in Aromatherapy as I was privileged enough in northern Cyprus to actually pick the olives, cover them in water for about a week, then shown how to transform the oil into creams. The olives themselves got a second soaking then were put in jars ready to eat. In Crete I was shown how to remove hair dye with cigarette ash and how to make a face mask from mud and lemons. When I came back to North Wales, UK, I set about perfecting blends for today's market. Blending eastern creams with our own curative mineral waters of North Wales.
In the main I think we can safely say that the Egyptians can claim their forefathers were the first to devise beauty preparations with the Assyrians coming a close second. These women were wonderfully over the top and loved to indulge themselves, from the Henna they used on their hair, to the seductive perfumes of Rose, Ginger, Ylang Ylang and Patchouli in which they bathed and oiled their bodies.
Frankincense and Myrrh have gained popularity in Anti-aging facial creams and body lotions that really do preserve the skin. We really do have a lot to thank the ancient Egyptians for, without them would we have our beauty products of today? So next time you put cream on your face or spend 10 minutes to put your make up on please spare a thought for these ancient ladies who had to spend a great deal of time, as make up boxes contained sandals and elbow pads for resting on to avoid bruising elbows! as it was a long and arduous task.

Trisha.

I became interested in complementary therapies about 20 years ago, Initially for my own health and that of my children. I was so impressed with the results that I decided to study reflexology and took a 1 year full-time course. this course was EEC monitored and I graduated with distinction. Several other courses have followed since then and it is now an integral part of my life. My experience to date includes giving over 1.000 treatments, for conditions as diverse as stress and Motor Neurone disease, I have successfully run a complementary health clinic and given treatments and demonstrations in hospitals. I feel everyone can use complementary therapies to improve their own lives and to help family and friends.
